Academic Supports & Resources

Online Credit Recovery (Edgenuity)

  • Students earn 5 credits per semester course completed through Edgenuity Credit Recovery Program 
  • Limited classes available

 

Night School (12th grade with at least 140 credits)

  • Up to 2 classes / 10 credits per semester for classes taken at the Adult School Campus
  • Students choose day(s) to attend (Mon-Thu) and classes are 4:30 - 7:00 pm

 

Community Service (11th & 12th grade) 

  • 5/10 credits per semester 
  • 1 hour a day - 80 hours a semester = 5 credits
  • 2 hours a day - 160 hours a semester = 10 credits

 

Work Experience (11th & 12th grade)

  • 5/10 credits per semester
  • 10 hours a week - 144 hours a semester = 5 credits
  • 20 hours a week - 288  hours a semester = 10 credits
  • Students must be currently be employed

 

Hermanos/Hermanas Seminar (11th & 12th grade)

  • Students can earn 7 credits per semester 
  • Skyline College Courses offered on SSFHS Campus 
  • Courses are taught twice a week Monday & Wednesday from 3:15 - 4:30 pm

Concurrent Enrollment at Community College

  • Students can earn up to 10 credits per class taken depending on units
  • Any grade level can apply, must have a 3.0 GPA (9th/10th grade) or 2.0 GPA (11th/12th grade) to be approved and counselor must approve the course
  • 0.5 units = 1.5 credits / 1 unit = 3 credits / 1.5 units = 5 credits / 2 units = 7 credits / 2.5 units = 8.5 credits / 3 units = 10 credits

Jump Start (10th & 11th grade)

District Summer School (9th - 12th grade)

  • Summer School applications are available in the Spring (April)
  • Students can earn 5 or 10 credits
  • 3 weeks = 5 credits
  • 6 weeks = 10 credits
  • Summer school locations vary each year
  • Limited spaces are available 
School Resources

Homework Center

  • Students can receive extra academic support from teachers in the Library
  • Hours are from 3:10 to 4:10 Monday - Friday
  • Quiet place to catch up on work, projects or other assignments
  • No homework center  if there are faculty meetings or early release days

Checking in with Teachers

  • Students are highly encouraged to speak with their teachers if they are having difficulties in the classroom
  • You can speak with your teacher before school, at lunch or after school
  • You can reach out to them also via school loop email

Peer Leaders

  • Provide 1 on 1 tutoring with students throughout the school day
  • If you would like to request a Peer Leader please speak with our Intervention Counselor Mrs. Keough

Weekly Progress Reports

  • Students can pick up a form from the Counseling Office and have teachers fill it out on Fridays
